Alertpay Phishing Scam – Please Read!

There is an email being sent, over the past week from what I can tell, claiming to be from the EarnEasyCash admin.

It claims that you have won a Money prize, some emails say $100 or $100,000. This email also attempts to get you to give your Alertpay email and password.

Do not reply to this email! I will never ask for your password for any account on any website. One of the users reported that the email came from the domain earneasycash.com. Please note, I do not own earneasycash.COM. I own earneasycash.INFO and will never send an email to you from any other domain. Even if it appears to be from earneasycash.info never give out your Alertpay password; you never need to provide someone else with your password to receive funds.

Some users report that another version of the email contains a link that sends the user to a fake Alertpay website. Never click a link, especially for a bank account, from an email not verified to be from the bank in question. If you must check your account, open a new tab and type the domain in manually or use your own bookmark.

Alertpay Withdraw Option

Update 3/26 - Good News! Although Alertpay bank abilities are still down, Alertpay added a new feature allowing me to use my card to deposit funds. I am trying it now for the first time. If it works, Alertpay will be available again. The only bad part is Alertpay charges high fees for these deposits.

Unfortunately, Alertpay withdraw is temporarily unavailable.

With the current credit card problems and now bank deposit/withdraw problems, the funds in Alertpay cannot be replenished; Members cannot pay with their credit card (the main source of payments) and I cannot deposit money into my Alertpay balance.

When Alertpay fixes their bank problems and deposits can resume, I will begin paying through Alertpay again. Sorry for the inconvenience but the problem is out of my hands.

In the meantime, you can either request through PayPal or simply wait until Alertpay becomes available again. I have already completed any pending Premium member Alertpay payments with the remaining available balance. Pending Standard member payments will be made as soon as it is possible.

EDIT: I just completed all pending Standard member AP payments on time (within 72 hours). There are no more pending Alertpay payments.

EDIT Jan 11th: I am opening up Alertpay withdraw from Premium members only. If there is any money left afterwards, I will reopen Standard AP withdraw. I will continue to leave the Alertpay option up until there is no more money left in the account.

UPDATE – 1/27 – Alertpay bank capabilties are still down, however, there is enough money from Alertpay purchases to justify opening up the withdraw again. Alertpay withdraw is temporarily open for basic members. I will keep it open until if/or when it runs out of funds.

2/2 – Alertpay withdraw is going great and still open for both basic and upgraded members. Alertpay is still experiencing bank and credit card problems. They have not sent an update on when this will be fixed.

Update:2/16 Alertpay payment is temporarily unavailable for standard members. It is still available to Upgraded members. ! There are no pending standard alertpay payments.

As some of you may know, PayPal typically charges $0.30 + 2.9% of every incoming payment for businesses. Fortunately, I was able to cut more than 75% of that fee.

Because EarnEasyCash receives a large-margin majority of purchases via PayPal, this fee drop has done two things

With lower base fees, I lowered the minimum purchases on things like memberships and a la carte advertising.
With less in fees, I have more money to give back to members in the forms of Bonuses and Play While You Surf cash winnings.

Shutting down PaidToClick.in, a content theft case

For a little over 6 months now, I have been trying to get PaidToClick.in to take down the content stolen from EarnEasyCash.info (Compare my homepage to their homepage, you will see the copied content and links to it)

I started by simply contacting the admin; no response. Then I emailed the host, Tailor Made Servers; no response. Frustrated, I searched online and found a little helpful tool called a DMCA takedown. DMCA (The Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998) is a United States law that basically forbids the stealing of online content and outlines the process for getting the stolen content taken down.

Obviously, PaidToClick.in is a India site and U.S. law does not apply there. Dang! However, looking further, I found that Tailor Made Servers, the host, is located in the U.S. and therefore falls under the DMCA.

From there, it was simple. I sent a DMCA takedown notice to TailorMade and called the server owner. I received this email an hour ago, shortly after my call…

Apparently, within 6 hours either the owner will take down the offending content OR the server will be shut down. Although this doesn’t prevent the owner from getting a new server (outside of the USA if he/she is smart), it does send a clear message…Do Not Steal My Content!

Here is the EXACT message you must send to the ISP/Host in order to complete a DMCA Takedown of stolen content. If you do not follow this exact format, your email will be ignored.

Dear Sir or Madam: I, YOUR NAME, am authorized to act as a non-exclusive copyright agent on behalf of YOUR WEBSITE/COMPANY NAME, of the physical address below. I swear under penalty of perjury that I have detected infringements of YOUR WEBSITE/COMPANY NAME copyright interests as detailed in the report below. I have reasonable good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of in the report below is not authorized by YOUR WEBSITE/COMPANY NAME, my agents, or the law. The information provided herein is accurate to the best of my knowledge. Therefore, this letter is an official notification to effect removal of the detected infringement listed in the report below. The report below specifies the exact location of the infringement. I hereby request that you immediately remove or block access to the infringing material, as specified in the copyright laws, and insure the user refrains from using or sharing with others the unauthorized materials in the future (see, 17 U.S.C. 512).

Please send a prompt response indicating the actions you have taken to resolve this matter, making sure to reference DMCA-CASE #(ANY NUMBER HERE) in your response. Nothing in this letter shall serve as a waiver of any rights or remedies of YOUR FULL NAME with respect to the alleged infringement, all of which are expressly reserved. If you need to contact me, my contact information is located at the bottom of this letter.

UPDATE: The server administrator refuses contact now, paidtoclick.in is one of his few customers. I submitted DMCA notices to Google and Yahoo for the two pages specified above and they were accepted. I have one pending for his homepage and the content he stole from me on there too.

Toolbar added to EarnEasyCash

I am testing out a new toolbar that ties together a lot of EarnEasyCash’s social/information in one area. Not only is there a quick and easy way to see our Twitter feed and view the lastest blog posts, but it adds some great functionality such as a chat room and other fun stuff.

Who knows, maybe this toolbar will be gone in a week or two. For now, I like it and I think I will keep it up.

When you buy a lottery/raffle ticket on EarnEasyCash.info, you will no longer receive an email confirming your purchase. I did this because sending out an email for each ticket purchase is redundant and it takes up server resources unnecessarily.

Changes to PTC Surf on EarnEasyCash

About a week ago, I changed the way the PTC Surf shows the ads. Previously, it went from lowest value to highest value; It now surfs highest value first then lowest value.

This has some benefits for earners and advertisers. For users, this gives them a chance to surf the highest value ads first and get more money for their time (5 sec ad is $0.0001 but a 11 second ad is $0.0003). This also will encourage advertisers to put up higher value ads, to get their own ad viewed first.

For advertisers, now you can ensure your ad is one of the first seen by increasing its value. Ads at the beginning are more effective than ads at the end.
